Disappointed with my partner and Is recent visit to your store yesterday. We had a Nintendo DS lite and PSP to sell and a few games. Lady behind the till took a good look at both of our consoles and said they looked fine and booked them in for testing. We wasted an hour of our time waiting for these to be tested to come back to store for them both to have ‘failed’ the test stage. 2 of the worst excuses I’ve ever heard with both consoles work perfectly. PSP was a ‘ticking time bomb’ in the person who served us words due to the battery having a fault which when looking at it ourselves we see no issues.. Bearing in mind my partner purchased this console from CEX in the first place. So someone clearly wasn’t doing their job properly when the previous person took the console in to sell and it was very over priced compared to other shops we seen them being sold for. I will never ever sell any console or electric item to CEX again. Under price something to make an a ridiculous profit back!! Disgusting. I think a 1 star is being too generous if I’d I’ve got the option to click 0 stars I would have done.
While I've been impressed with the service at Chesterfield CEX I was deeply dissapointed with my experience at the Sheffield CEX. First a positive, the staff are very friendly and do a good job when you are finally at the till. The point of criticism is that the store seems poorly managed with items getting lost on multiple occasions and waiting in a queue to be served takes at least 30 minutes and on occasions 1 hour. The wait times are usually due to understaffing it seems. The staff do like to take their time with customers. While this leads better customer service, this is undermined by the long wait times and the unreliability of items placed on shelves actually being in stock. How do you solve it? 1. Better training for the store manager in inventory management and developmemt of people management skills so they can better support the staff on the shop floor. 2. Hire more staff to help manage the store. There are at least 5 tills but only two or three are ever manned. This indicates an understaffed issue with the store. 3. Provide better care and support for your staff. In my experience poor service like this is due to the corporation not listening to their employees and thinking their spreadsheets are more reliable than the actual staff running the store. Please take this as constructive criticism and I hope it helps the store improve in the future.
Came at 5pm yesterday whilst on my way somewhere else, all I wanted was two games. Walked in, found them, stood in line, 5 people in front of me, 2 behind - and for around just under 5 minutes the queue didn't move, despite there being about 10 visible staff. Put my games on the closest shelf and walked out. Have a word with yourself. Edit: dropped it down to one star. Having a read through some other reviews on here of people having the same experience and "Kunal" the store owners response is basically "staff are assigned different jobs throughout the day it's not our fault, be patient". No brother, it is your fault. First and foremost you serve customers, then you go about doing whatever else. Clearly not a knowledgeable manager. More staff than a Lidl and have people waiting? No thanks. I'll just use Ebay/Vinted, over this rip off company.
Bought a switch for my wifes birthday, turned out to be faulty, absolutely dreading the return incase it worked fine for them. Testing only took 10mins and issues a refund no problem! Massive thankyou to Zack for being a absolute gem!
I took my mobile that was malfunctioning. It was still under the warranty. They took a good look at it and couldn't find anything wrong with it. But they assure me that if the problem happens again they will have a look again and if they find any issue they'll swap with another phone. I thought it was reasonable aftercare service.
