This restaurant is simply the best! The chief reason is that since opening, however many years that is, they have maintained a very high standard of food and service over that time. I recently had their Pancakes with fruit and yogurt ; the pancakes were just so soft and fluffy that even without the filling they were so delectable. Definitely the best version (and I’ve had many) of this I’ve ever tasted. The staff are always very friendly and chatty, despite being busy. They are prompt , they smile and they don’t hurry you even if there is a queue. Mind you it’s the one place I don’t mind queuing as B&S is a lovely shop to look onto especially with all the windows!
Went for lunch at the Gateshead branch and my friend and I both chose the Gyros Chicken Pitta Wrap. Absolutely delicious and very filling no complaints regarding the food whatsoever. Food thoroughly recommended. My only issue was a 10% gratuity which was automatically added to the bill. I failed to see this on the menu and it wasn't until I checked the bill at home I noticed the charge. Although the service was good, being on a pension I wouldn't have necessarily left a tip as the staff didn't do anything out of the ordinary to warrant it.
Great atmosphere. I love their lime and coconut cake though it needs to be a-bit more tangy. I got the new Zealand coffee which was beautiful. And the cheese grill toasty with Persian carrot Jam. One constructive criticise for the chef. Im Persian and that wasn’t our carrot Jam. No where in Iran ever provides carrot jam as a puree. I would suggest find the recipe online. I have given 4 star for the fact that the Jam wasn’t true. Thank you and will be back again
Valentines day lunch. Confusion reigned when we arrived, we had booked but there was no indication from staff where we should sit and we were not asked who we were. We just picked a free table and from then on the staff were fine and attentive. It can be a noisy place with quite an echo if children are present! The food choice is limited to a Greek menu and I had the Beef kofta in tomato sauce with hummus, tzatziki, salad and flatbread. It was extremely tasty and well presented. The view from the restaurant can be very green due to the surrounding trees and the sedum roof.
Went for breakfast. Menu was fab, staff lovely. Didn't have lunch, but the menu looked lovely. Will definitely visit again.
