Pontefract Outdoor Market will welcome a new generation of local entrepreneurs this summer as it hosts its first ever Young Traders Market on Saturday 21 June.

Celebrating Local Talent

Organised by Wakefield Council, the event is part of the national Young Traders Market programme, which helps to promote and support traders aged 18 to 30. Visitors can expect a vibrant mix of stalls run by young business owners from across the district, offering everything from handmade crafts and artisan foods to sustainable products and unique gifts.

A Great Day Out in Pontefract

Running from 10am to 4pm, the Young Traders Market will take place alongside Pontefract’s regular Saturday market, giving shoppers the chance to explore an even wider variety of stalls. Visitors are encouraged to make a day of it — browse local produce, enjoy a bite to eat, and take in some of the town’s historic highlights, including Pontefract Castle just a short stroll away.

Supporting the High Street

This new addition is part of Wakefield District Markets’ commitment to support emerging businesses and keep local high streets thriving. The event is free to attend and is a great opportunity to show your support for the district’s young entrepreneurs.
