I am putting this post on for my dad that is in his eighties. He went into the Wakefield branch today to return a coat that my mother had bought on..line. He took it to the desk to return the item. All packed up properly as that is what my parents are like. Took it back in the same condition as it was received. Much to my father's shock the lady to whom dealt with him at the desk was to say the least very sharp with her manner. He was told bluntly to take it out of the bag. My dad was confused how to open it as it was sealed up very well. She said to him sharply you open it up there! Pointing at were the parcel had to be opened. Then firmly REQUESTED to see the return code...Now I understand that the contents of the packages may have to be seen but what on earth as happened to good old fashioned customer service! My dad is a polite man that didn't at all to be spoken to like that and embarrassed too and made to feel totally stupid! Please have a word with your OLDER aged staff to treat as you would be expected to be treated. Also can I ask why can't staff open the packages! Just a simple question really. I hope I get a reply from this message....I await your reply. MARKS AND SPENCERS...WAKEFIELD BRANCH...THANKYOU...

A lady was putting reduction labels on about 12 candles i asked her if they were 50% off she said yes. Took one to the till the lady that served me had already rolled her eyes about the previous customer, the when she served me she said it was £25 I said the lady had just told me it was reduced, she said very rudely no £25 must've been a mistake.

I bought what I came for, underwear. I'm disabled and you only had one lift working. But I still had a good time shopping

I love their flat white coffee and cheese & mushroom Toasties. The new Christmas ciabata sausage rolls are tasty too. Currently my favourite coffee in the city centre.

I visited the cafe in Wakefield today and I was absolutely horrified by a member of staff's aggression towards me, I would suggest if a customer doesn't understand what you are referring to is to be more specific rather than humiliating someone in public! Generally I have received a very professional service in the past, but this experience has put me off visiting again in the near future. She has definitely let the team down! I gave 2* because the meal was OK
