So first of all. I actually called to rebook this spa the day before as i wasnt very well. This was the saturday as the spa was on the sunday. Very unhelpful staff at the end of the phone said ‘’ oh this cant be done due to our 48hr policy you will need to email head office but they are not open until monday!’ So basically if i was told on the mo day that i wouldnt be able to rebook then my mk ey will have been wasted!!!!! Very disappointing. The welcome (if you can call it a welcome) was appalling. Stood waiting ages to be served. Plus i think the £40 deposit for the bag, flip flops and towel is a rip off. Yes i know you get £20 back but what is the £20 for which they keep? For the very unflattering bag and flip flops?!!! I actually saw a member of staff slagging some customers off while sat having her lunch. This was One of the therapists/ kids with long blonde hair. She has a serious attitude problem and needs to remember that customers pay her wages!!! We were not shown where the facilities were after saying that we had not been before. We were told after treatments that we would receive some water and discussion of aftercare. This was not done. Had there been this discussion then i may have actually bought some of the elemis products. But as i wasnt told what was used we just left. There has been many people asking for my opinion so its fair to say you have lost their business. The worst ‘spa’ we have been to and upset that my husband spent his money here and that my christmas present has been ruined. Will not be returning and would advise the same to others if you want to feel comfortable do not come here!!
Misadvertised “spa day”- Initial bad signposting wandering around have to ask where things are... Group of weird men staring, taking up the jacuzzi space as a gang... Clientelle from local area… not great. £20 just to hire robe & flip flops & dirty towel to then recieve £10 back once returned also £2 non refundable for locker bracelet. Toilets disgusting dont flush properly. Good changing rooms. Relaxation room- no clean towels in there, same used towels placed on water/heated beds. You need clean towels for every customer to sit on and a basket for the used ones. Good heated beds but this is just unhygienic… Freezing tiny pool. Class going on during visit loud and busy. Do not go for a relaxing spa day as this is not it. its just a normal gym with a small cold pool & 2 saunas that are full of creepy local customers.. Went with friend- said only one of us had paid for treatments went away & checked which we had paid, just topped off the other issues..feels generally run down. Do not go if you are wanting a relaxing spa day this is misadvertised.. made the best of it but would not return. The money we paid we could have spent on an actual spa rather than the local gym pool… very busy wednesday morning. - Plenty of parking. Good coffee. Good treatments using elemis products & nice friendly beauticians/staff.
We booked a Spa day for my birthday on the 17th July. Overall it was actually an okay day. Facilities was a bit overcrowded for a Thursday but understandable as its summer holidays so its fine. I enjoyed the wet sauna but didnt manage to go to the dry one as I said, it was overcrowded. Swimming pool was okay, it was freezing though. Loved the Jacuzzi. The changing rooms was complete, so it was good. However I rate the overall experience as 2 star because of the spa. We payed for a 45 minute massage so we were expecting a 45 minute massage. The masseuse started at 15:08 and finished at 15:40 that is only 32 minutes. Therefore it wasnt exactly 45 minutes. If it says on the website 45, it should be 45 nothing more nothing less, it was so disappointing when the massage was over, it made me feel like ‘that was it?’ Feeling. So I wasnt very satisfied. Dont get me wrong massage was good and the staff were nice, but they should do what you advertise.
Me and my sister visited the spa today and was disappointed 😞 After checking in at main reception we headed to changing room to get changed then wondered round for a while trying to find how to get into pool area.. eventually finding it through a door in changing room..not sign posted at all. We did not like the pool area, the pool was small with 2 lanes for length swimming and a class in rest of area.. sauna, steam room and jacuzzi were full of men,we felt uneasy. Time for massages.. booked lava shell package for 2.. the room was cold, the massage was mediocre..did not use hot shells either! The relaxation room was nice enjoyed that. We have been to many spas this has to be the worst weve been to. I believe to get the relaxation you require when booking these spa days you should have the spa facilities separate to gym membership users..the place was too busy far from relaxing. After our massages we left..disappointed.. waste of money.
AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE Came here for a “spa day” with my friends and it turned out to be a gym with a few massage rooms. It was so overcrowded that I spent most of the day in the café, which was full of ants. While eating lunch, I counted at least five ants on the table. Because there was no room in the sauna, steam room, or relaxation room, we ended up sitting in the spa waiting area as there was literally nowhere else to go. They also got our lunch order wrong and mixed everything up. At that point, I was completely over it, so we just left it. They did apologise, so there’s that. Our treatments were then pushed back by 30 minutes after we had already waited all day, and we weren’t notified until we went to check in. Because of this, we ended up not having our treatments at all. I drove from Manchester to Wakefield for a swim and a steam room for £50, when I could have driven up the road and done the same for £8. I am absolutely furious. There is no proper lounging area, only a relaxation room with six beds. Alongside the pool, there is literal garden furniture. I went for relaxation and to feel calm, and I’ve come back angry and disappointed. They also weren’t able to refund me because I booked through a voucher, which is a complete joke. I was told to email and then sent on my way. I shouldn’t have to email—it’s up to them to sort this out, not me. Absolute joke. The only positive from the entire experience was James, who is a lovely staff member. He apologised profusely and was genuinely helpful throughout the day.
