The Range, Drakehouse Park

Went to the click & collect counter to collect an order. 3 ladies behind the desk all walking around behind the counter chatting. Completely ignored my existence. Lady came over with a phone and just held it out (i guessed she wanted to scan my QR code) Never said a word, scanned it and walked off. Came back, passed me the parcel and never said 1 word to me. So rude. Staff chatting and ignoring a customer stood there waiting with a baby. Never mind the lack of communication whilst serving me.

Great having a local range but the store layout is a bit strange. There's a lift but says 'not suitable for trolleys' so I dont think you can actually take your trolley upstairs. Obviously out of ranges control so not gonna mark down for that but it's frustrating. No cafe like the other one near IKEA which I know disappointed alot of people. Dog friendly so take my dog in. On opening day they had a 'dulux' dog advertising the paint section but weirdly it was reactive and lunged at my dog and the handler had to seriously hold on for dear life. Not sure having a reactive dog for advertisement is very safe. The garden center is still homebase so in a way it still feels very similar to the previous store. What I will mark down on is the care of the plants. We came on opening day and the plant section was thriving, so green and fresh. Saw some of my favourite flowers (lupins) which were quite extortionate at homebase prices (£20). We came to visit a week later and they're dying/dead!!! It's only been a week, needs better garden maintenance. Other than that can't fault the staff, they're always very chirpy and friendly with a smile on their face. Really want the store to do well and hoping it's just starting up issues so will update my review in a few months time with hopefully better ratings.

This is a new ish store, previously homebase. I've visited a handful of times because I love the Range's prices and stock and this is much closer to my home than the others. I think it's great and always find what I need, but what stands out to me are the staff! They all seem genuinely happy to be there and are so helpful. Today, Dave the store manager mixed us some paint and he was so patient with me and my teenage son as the colours didn't look right so he mixed more, it felt like he couldn't do enough to help us. We left very happy customers. Thank you Dave, you and your staff are all fabulous and we will be back very soon.

The staff in the Drake house store went above and beyond today. I was looking for a Grinch Xmas tree the guys found one and placed it at customer services to save me carrying it. What a wonderful surprise our 4yr old grandson will have.
