I rarely write negative reviews, but From the moment the food arrived, it was clear that flavor was not a priority. Everything we ordered—from the mushroom starter to the main course—was under-seasoned, lacking any real depth or character. The ingredients tasted like they’d come straight from a freezer and hadn’t been properly introduced to a spice rack. Even the simplest dishes, like the pasta, managed to be both overcooked and underwhelming. Service was polite but indifferent, which mirrored the food: functional, but with no real warmth or passion. They do offer a gluten-free menu, which might seem like a plus—unfortunately, it’s not one I’d recommend. The gluten-free options were just as bland as everything else, with no creativity or attention to texture or flavor. The drinks were the best part of the experience but still nothing to write home about With so many great dining options available, I can’t see myself returning. It’s one thing to serve simple food—it’s another to serve food that’s simply dull.

We called in after a long day and a LOT of steps around the city, and enjoyed a cosy and delicious meal from the set menu. The food (pâté, garlic bread, pizza, risotto, brownie, and chocolate fondant) were all absolutely delicious, as were the mocktails, and the waitresses could not have been nicer. A memorable meal and a lovely spot we will revisit on our next trip.

It was our anniversary night and my girlfriend surprised me by bringing me here. The ambience was dreamy and the staff made it even it special. They reserved a cozy window seat for us and welcomed us with complimentary wine. We then ordered Chorizo & Roasted Chicken Pizza and Pollo Funghi Pasta and didnt regret it. Honestly, couldn’t have asked for a better anniversary dinner. 5 stars!

From the moment we walked in the door service was impeccable, shout out to our server Christina (I believe, that was the name on the bill). Atmosphere was lovely, a varied menu, reasonable prices, food was divine and short wait times. Cannot fault this place at all, five stars all round.

Absolutely loved our visit to D'Vine last night. Had a gorgeous meal - one of the best steaks I've had in a long, long while, with super-tasty chips, my wife had a delicious lasagne, and my son had the largest 'kids' pizza I've ever seen! He thoroughly enjoyed it though. We also had a couple of amazing cocktails, properly done. Service was also amazing. We had an accidental spill of apple juice and the waiting staff were immediately on hand with mopping up, and replaced the spilt juice without even being asked. They were suitably attentive without hovering. The food and drinks were also served quickly, although we had the benefit of arriving ahead of their busier period - it was getting busier from 7-7:30. We had a fab time and would thoroughly recommend. Would definitely consider returning next time we visit York.
