|It looks like March is shaping up to be a month-long party, and everyone’s invited. The popular Mexican and South American restaurant, Las Iguanas, is dedicating the entire month to one of the world's most-loved cocktails: the Margarita. They're calling it Marg Month, and it’s set to be a proper fiesta of flavours, complete with a special treat for anyone lucky enough to have a birthday in March. That's right, a whole month to celebrate this classic cocktail, and if you’re celebrating a birthday, there's a free margarita with your name on it.
A month-long fiesta for a classic cocktail
Throughout March 2026, Las Iguanas is dialling up its signature vibrant energy to honour the zesty, salt-rimmed glass of goodness that is the margarita. Think of it as a 31-day festival celebrating a true cocktail icon. Guests across the country are encouraged to grab their mates and soak up the spirit of Latin America. It’s all about bold flavours, a buzzing atmosphere, and the kind of lively spirit that gets any celebration started. The whole idea is to create a month-long fiesta where every visit feels like a special occasion, with the margarita at the centre of it all.
This isn't just about sipping a drink; it’s about the whole experience. Las Iguanas is known for its upbeat, laid-back vibe, with a soundtrack that makes it hard not to tap your feet. The restaurant channels the colourful, urban flair of Latin America, creating a perfect backdrop to celebrate. Whether it’s a catch-up with friends or just an excuse to enjoy some delicious food and drinks, Marg Month offers the perfect reason to pop in. This event promises to deliver a little bit of sunshine in a glass, no matter what the British weather is doing outside. The energy is infectious, making it a great place to unwind and enjoy a fantastic cocktail.
Your special birthday treat
Now for the really good bit, especially for anyone celebrating their birthday this month. If you were born in March, Las Iguanas wants to give you a birthday present. On Tuesday 24th March 2026, anyone with a March birthday can claim a completely free Margarita. It’s their way of saying "Happy Birthday!" and making those March birthdays feel extra special. What better way to celebrate another trip around the sun than with a free, expertly made cocktail?
Getting your free birthday drink is pretty straightforward. All you need to do is head over to the Las Iguanas website and sign up to receive a promotional code. Then, on the 24th of March, just pop into your local restaurant, show them the code along with a valid ID that proves it’s your birth month, and a £10.95 margarita is all yours. It’s a simple thank you for choosing to celebrate with them. Of course, this special birthday freebie is for guests aged 18 and over, and it's for one day only, so make sure to put the date in your calendar. It's a fantastic excuse to get everyone together for a birthday toast.
What’s on the margarita menu?
During Marg Month, the cocktail menu is getting some serious attention. Las Iguanas will be shaking and pouring a whole line-up of margaritas, ensuring there’s something for every taste. For the purists, the crisp, classic lime margarita is always a winner. It’s the original for a reason, with that perfect balance of sharp and sweet. But for those who fancy something a bit different, there are plenty of fruity favourites on offer, like the ever-popular strawberry or the tropical passionfruit margaritas. These fruity options offer a sweet twist on the classic drink.
And because it’s a special month, they’ve also added a couple of limited-edition cocktails to the mix. These aren't your everyday margaritas. First up is the Bahian, which sounds incredible. It’s made with Altos Plata Tequila, triple sec, lime, and warming spices, then topped with toasted coconut and a spring onion. Yes, a spring onion! It’s a bold combination of flavours. Then there’s the Hot Honey Mango, which blends tequila, lime, and mango with a kick of hot honey and chilli. For guests who want all the fiesta without the alcohol, there's also the Margarit-eh, a non-alcoholic version made with Almagest Blanco, lime, and organic bitters. There's a glass for every guest.
More than just margaritas
While the spotlight is definitely on the magnificent margarita, the celebration doesn’t stop there. Las Iguanas is a place known for its amazing food, drawing inspiration from the rich culinary traditions of Mexico and South America. The Marg Month celebration fits perfectly alongside their other popular offerings. Guests can still enjoy the much-loved Tapas Bundles, which are perfect for sharing, or head down for Bottomless Tapas Tuesdays. And of course, the all-day, every-day Bottomless Brunch is still on the menu, which just so happens to pair perfectly with a refreshing margarita.
It's this combination of great food, lively energy, and fantastic cocktails that makes the restaurant a go-to spot. The team at Las Iguanas is passionate about creating a genuine Latin spirit. As Marketing Director Tom Patrick explained:
“At Las Iguanas, we love any excuse to celebrate the hugely popular Margarita, so Marg Month is the perfect opportunity to do this. It’s bold, bright and brings the fiesta wherever it goes, just like our restaurants. Whether you’re a classic lime fan or prefer a fruity twist, there’s a Margarita for everyone. And treating March birthdays to a free one felt like the perfect way to say Salud!.”
The menu is also designed to be inclusive, with plenty of vegetarian, vegan, and flexitarian options available. This means everyone can explore the exciting and bold flavours of Latin America, with plenty of delicious dishes made with or without meat. It’s all part of the welcoming, communal spirit that the brand is built on. So whether it's for the free birthday cocktail, the special margaritas, or the fantastic food, there are plenty of reasons to join the fiesta this March.
