Good selection and the staff are vigilant. Older fella in there who seems like the manager is always really polite and keen to help if need be. Their more expensive meal deal meals called the Kitchen Deli range are really nice and genuinely are a nice convenient balanced meal for the price.
Me and my husband visit York every year as we love the city so much and stay in the same place which is close to Sainsbury’s Bootham. We come to this store all the time to pick up any items we need and we love the atmosphere, the staff, especially the youngsters, are super friendly and always make us feel very welcome! ☺️

No drunkards outside or tomfoolery within the premise from any bagabons. The selection of breads was less than satisfactory, but what can I expect at 11:30pm. My faith in Sainsburys was restored when the lady at the till swiftly located my preferred rum and checked us out within a minute. Would recommend, take the other reviews with a pinch of salt.
Gone very woke, staff clearly trans and non binary , which is fine if that's what they want. But too posh to pack, even if you go to the service till rather than self service, most of the under 25's refuse to pack for you. So I take my time🙂. What's the point other than when you want tobacco or alcohol which the auto scan units can't authorise..... yet!
