Hidden away, but very cozy coffee shop inside the Barker Tower. Tables on top floor of the tower offer great views of York and the city walls. Perfect stop for a break walking the York city wall.
Love this little place. Not tried the cakes but had a cupper, and I was down in the dungeon since it nice a quiet for me. Since it winter it is cold in the dungeon but that no fault of theirs if you want warm stay Upstairs. Also to bare in mind there is no toilet here.
Atmospheric setting for a good capuccino.
Popped in for a coffee and cake. Over 400 years old and supposedly haunted got a great welcome from the staff. The dungeon was flooded due to the significant rain but added to the experience. Cake was great. Small but perfectly formed. DON'T MISS....
Lovely little coffee shop, river allowing in winter! Sadly York is at the mercy of the rain and river levels.
