Greg was very likeable, hilarious, and had a character to him that felt right for a ghost walk. The only problem is, I couldn’t follow what he was saying! There wasn’t much enunciation to his words, so they all felt like a blur. It didn’t have an expressive arc that guided your listening — properly timed pauses, emotional variation in speed and volume… the effect it had was that you couldn’t really understand or follow the stories, and it felt bewildering. Someone else in the group felt the same way, so I knew it wasn’t just me. The scary stories were mixed with interesting sights and trivia, but the trivia didn’t go deep on facts — it was more like “here’s a thing, moving on”. That worsened the bewilderment when you were already feeling low on information from not being able to follow the stories. I can see Greg being one of the best, and maybe he already is. But as of last night I simply couldn’t follow his words, and that made it difficult.

We did the ghost tour. I hate tobe brutally honest but it wasn't the best our tour guide was to softly spoken we had trouble hearing him really felt like it was a chore to walk us about and be clear about the ghost stories. After he had finished most of the group clapped and said thanks then soon as he was gone commented on how bad it was wouldn't recommend

Had a great time in this tour. Super cheap in comparison to other tours around and the guide was hilarious and made the group feel very involved. Would have liked to hear more stories if there had been a little more time (perhaps an extra half hour?) for a few other ghost stories around the Shambles and the Golden Fleece but all in all enjoyable experience.

I made it in July, we paid 6£ for an hour ghost tour. We have been around York and the guide added comments about the history of the city as we were passing by main points or telling us some ghost tories. Overall the experience was pleasant and really worth the price

Greg was great! Very funny, could tell a creepy story, and was impromptu with jokes when got hooted by a passing car! Good overview of the history of the city, too.
