About Pyramid Gallery
Description
Pyramid Gallery is a privately owned shop and gallery in the heart of medieval York, close to The Minster. Established in 1980, Pyramid offers one of the country's finest selections of British made contemporary crafts, jewellery and original prints.
Selected for Quality by the Crafts Council, the gallery displays work by many leading designers and makers who work in Glass, Ceramics, Wood and Metal as well as work by designer jewellers.
On two floors of a fifteenth century building, the work of up to 150 British craft makers and artists may be viewed and purchased. Displays are constantly changing and the two first floor galleries are used for temporary exhibitions of which details may be viewed on this web site.
If you wish to purchase an item featured on this web site, please phone 01904 641187 between 10am and 5pm to check availability. Items may be purchased using a credit card. Postage costs will apply to most items, typically £4.50 for jewellery items, £16 for small to medium sized ceramics and glass.

Lovely shop featuring British artists- definitely not the same mass-produced stuff you see everywhere. Gorgeous jewelry, pottery, artwork; lots to choose from. Friendly welcoming staff. Wish I had more to spend there!!
I visited with three friends last Thursday. Terry very kindly took some earrings out of the cabinet so we could look at them more closely (even though I said that I wouldn’t be buying them). It’s the second time we’ve visited as a group and had such care and kindness, allowing us to look in more detail at pieces. Thank you and I would highly recommend Pyramid Gallery. They have such a wonderful selection of hand crafted items and I’m sure we’ll visit again in the future. My friends and I get together a couple of times a year
Honestly I was thoroughly impressed with the gallery fantastic curation of art with stunning glass and ceramic work I was more impressed here than I was with the show put on by the York art gallery The staff inside were also incredibly friendly welcoming and knowledgeable a lovely spot to check out!
Fabulous jewellery shop and gallery. Amazingly friendly and super helpful service. Nothing too much trouble. I was looking for something special for my son and was patiently guided through a whole selection of options. The exhibition of glasswork upstairs was a real added bonus. Very clear that the gallery is run with love, care and deep thought, with sourcing from amazing artists and artisans and relations crafted over many years. Thank you for making my visit to York that extra bit special.
I love this shop and as a York resident it is the shop I have bought from more than any other. I have been visiting for years and I have purchased various prints by Helen Hanson and others, and gifts from the gallery to give as presents. My wedding ring, some amazing glass and a lovely necklace by Katie Stone are from Pyramid Gallery. It is a very special place to browse, and although may look small from the street it hosts a large variety of jewellery, art and other gorgeous items. There is a wealth of knowledge in Terry about the different artists and their art. All the staff are helpful and it is a pleasure to look around, and sometimes to buy. Go in, enjoy the experience of this very special independent shop.
