A great experience. The session starts with a 30 minute talk. Jack was absolutely brilliant. Very engaging for the youngsters and adults. For those with preschoolers there is a good sensory room (think play village style play), which you can use at any point. After the talk there is a 30 min digging session, which is fun. When this finishes there is a museum, dressing up, exhibitions and further digging.

We went with 2 teenagers and 2 younger children. All of them loved it, whether it be the theoretical part where we learnt a lot, or the more hands on experience, that we all enjoyed, it was great! The youngest children could go to a safe playroom during the presentation so they would not be bored nor disrupt anything. It is all in all a good few hours spent learning in a fun way.

Dig is brilliant! Ellie was our guide and was so engaging with our very hyperactive, neurodiverse child. She kept him engaged and ran the session fast enough to keep his interest, which is so rare in most adults. Special thanks to Ellie! They have a sensory box which was a most welcome support during the talk. We adults learned a lot too and really enjoyed ourselves. Definitely a must for a family visit to York!

Great place to take the kids. We got lucky in that we were the only ones booked onto our time slot so we had the run of the place. This was handy as we knew it would be a gamble with an 18 month old but he cut about in the digging pit while we waited for our talk to begin. Jack was brilliant with our 4 year old and tailored the first part to younger ears to keep her engaged and it went down a storm. He was also great during the digging part and gave plenty of facts and information without just spewing word soup. He provided bits for our littlest to play with as well. The little sensory room is a great touch for little ones that don't have the attention span for talks.

Amazing experience! I really enjoyed joining my little niece exploring the area and listening to the wonderful guide, she was really passionate about teaching us in fun interactive ways. So thank you Sarah!✨
