Loved the Yorvik. It's quite a short experience but what they have on display is very interesting. Your ticket is valid for 12 months as well. They have a lift to all floors, disabled loos and alternative routes around the experience. Definitely worth a visit

Well organised and lovely friendly staff. A lovely way to spend 45 minutes. A 10 minutes introduction on a big screen is followed by a ride around the vast part of the Jorvik centre before ending up in the museum which is equally fascinating. The cart ride around points out the history with narration included. It's fascinating and tells a great story about the way things were. Would return in a heart beat. Visited 27th of December 2025

⚔️ Jorvik Viking Centre – York I visited the Jorvik Viking Centre recently and it was such an amazing experience! The museum is worth every penny, with very detailed exhibits and life-like Viking figures — honestly, some of them looked so real I got a little scared, thinking they might suddenly jump! Hahaha. From an accessibility point of view, the centre is very wheelchair friendly. There is discounted entry for disabled visitors, and a companion can enter for free, which makes it even better. The ride and exhibition areas are step-free, floors are smooth, and aisles are wide enough for comfortable wheelchair access. Staff are helpful and ready to assist. Overall, Jorvik Viking Centre is a must-visit if you want to experience authentic Viking life and history in a fun, immersive way. ♿ Accessibility Checklist – Jorvik Viking Centre ✅ Step-free entrance ✅ Wide aisles and smooth floors 🛗 Lift available if needed 🚻 Accessible toilets available ✅ Discounted entry for disabled visitors ✅ Companion enters free 🤝 Staff assistance available 📝 Note Some of the Viking figures are extremely realistic — a bit scary if you’re not expecting it! Wheelchair users can enjoy the ride and exhibitions comfortably. #GoogleLocalGuide #WalkAndSee #WheelchairAccessible #AccessibleTravel #York #VikingCentre

If you like Vikings or are traveling to York with children, this is a place worth visiting at least once. Rather than a typical walk-through museum, it feels more like a ride that takes you back in time, giving you the experience of circling a Viking village. It was immersive and engaging, especially for families. You can either book in advance or purchase tickets on site, which makes it quite convenient.

A fantastic journey back in time! We absolutely loved our visit to the Jorvik Viking Centre. It isn’t just a standard museum; the ride experience truly transports you back to the 10th century. The attention to detail is incredible—from the sights and sounds right down to the "authentic" smells! After the ride, the gallery section was fascinating. It was amazing to see the actual artifacts found at the site and stand on the glass floor above the original dig. The staff were knowledgeable and clearly passionate about Viking history. A definite must-do if you are visiting York.
