This will just get better year on year with a bit of growth. Looking forward to seeing it develop. Surfaced footpaths with lots of different loops. Carry on toward Rufforth and a cafe.
Excellent surfaced footpaths paths which allow short circular walks and big skies in a young woodland setting. Some birdlife around too for the bird watchers out there. There is a free car park at the entrance with space for about 12 cars including disabled parking and loads of bike racks. Ability to park on the road outside if the car park is full.
At the time of writing (2025) this is very new. The trees are all very small and all you will see is pathways among patches of ground with sticks coming up out of it. Couple this with the fact that it's right next to York's main, and very busy, outer ring road and you'll see why it's perfect if you're looking for somewhere noisy to walk your dog. Otherwise, you may choose to leave it another 20 years until it's an actual woodland. Nevertheless, it's great that it exists so that our children will have a new place to go when they grow up.
Good paths for walking around. Lots of smaller loops to be able to make quite a good walk
Nice place, bit bleak until things start growing. Major downside, the amount of dog crap everywhere. The amount of irresponsible dog owners and paid walkers is shameful, take responsibility and pick up
