Its so beautiful and calm place in the center of city of york. It is situaated near homes so it is a main placr for family walk and jogging. There is a kids area that contains lots of swings for kids.. so in this lockdown situation this is a best place for kids and adults outing and to get some fresh air.
A nice peaceful place to sit and watch the world go by. The park now has a small cafe (dogs welcome) the staff are very friendly and they use it to teach children with learning disabilities necessary life skills well worth a visit
It's a lovely little park with amenities and close to the city and shops. The only thing that lets it down is that there is a clear lack of investment, both of time and money. For a council run park it is actually very nice, but there are a few things such as things needing repainted etc. which would make it more pleasant. As well, the beck which runs through the park could really use some attention, I know there is a petition currently going on to restore this and add back the flow but I haven't heard any updates for a while making me think it may have gone quiet. Overall a nice place if you're local, if you're driving then there are other places close by you might want to check out such as the park in Heworth or even the University grounds which are very well managed and open to the public.
Lovely park - often pass through on my way to/from different commitments. It's been made nicer and more interesting since work has been done to rewild it - I see much more wildlife there these days (nice for planet, nice for me!)
Beautiful gardens, tenis courts and cafe.
