I genuinely enjoy training at this gym. The equipment is high quality and the staff are always friendly and professional. However, there is an important issue I would like to raise. The gym is often colder inside than outside, which has a noticeable impact on training quality. It becomes difficult to warm up properly and to take appropriate rest periods between sets. This is especially challenging during longer or heavier training sessions. Given the gym’s central location in York, we hope this concern can be taken seriously and addressed. Overall, it is a great gym, and resolving this issue would significantly improve the member experience.
Great gym. Wide range of equipment so hardly ever have to wait. Joined a couple months ago after previously using a nearby commercial gym which was generally good, but always busy and had some members who didn't bother reracking plates and my god, what a difference. Fab gym culture and environment too. Staff are super helpful and other members are friendly and considerate. Cannot recommend it enough
I signed up this week and I am so impressed, probably the best gym I have ever been in! Machines and equipment are mostly sectioned by body part / area so makes training specific muscle groups super easier. Really nice atmosphere, there’s a buzz but not overly busy. 5* for sure.
I’ve been a member here for three years and met the new manager on their first day. The gym already has solid equipment and a great atmosphere. If you’re serious about training, this gym has potential. With the new management, I’m hoping winter won’t feel freezing inside anymore and that the music volume stays at a level where members can actually hear their own headphones. Aside from that, it’s a good spot for proper, focused training.
New manager is a jobsworth, he’s rude and acts like he owns the place. Gym is freezing in winter and boiling in summer. “Renovated” the toilets and then upper our memberships once again to pay for it. The toilets still stink and they’re now dark and depressing. They never make any improvements to the actual equipment. 2kg dumbbells have been missing for several months and there’s always a stairmaster broken.
