My son and I like coming here for free swim. It is a dated swimming pool, however all facilities are there and does not impact the swimming experience. I like that they have vending machines and 1 of those you can get hot beverages. It's 20p for a locker, decent size, I could fit 2 hoodies which there is a inside hook in the middle to hang those, plus swim bag and clothes. You remove trainers before entering the swim area, I like this method as no outdoor shoes are allowed past certain points and is more hygienic then Monkscross swimming pool. There are shower facilities and hair drying, however they are very old! I would recommend this pool, its warm and deep and not very busy at all. Staff are nice to and approachable. Only negative are the tiles in the pool and side look so old now and probably put some people off.

I managed a sneaky swim on a recent trip to York. This pool was just the ticket, booking online was easy enough and made getting in very easy. It’s an unusual pool - like an indoor lido.. you walk poolside to get to the changing rooms and lockers then in you get! It’s 50yds in length and plot into three wide lanes. The temperature was quite cool, it wasn’t over chlorinated and it was far from crowded. Really nice pool and if it was my regular I wouldn’t be disappointed .

It was my first time doing aqua aerobics. Loved it. Excellent instructor, friendly and helpful people. Good price, so no luxury but basic showers.

We go here a lot. It's a full size pool which is quite rare. They do lane swimming and swim for all and family fun swims on a weekend. They also do aqua aerobics twice a week and swimming lessons and club stuff. Loads going on. It's an old building/pool with some great heritage and historic links to the city and it's workers/people. The pool and building are well looked after and are clean and the changing areas/showers/toilets are clean. You can book online and I think you can turn up and pay, if there are spaces. The staff are good. There are vending machines in the lobby for hot and cold drinks and snacks. There is enough parking at the venue but the car park is really tight with little space between the 2 rows and the spaces are tight.
