Small, black box theatre with a lovely staff. Conveniently located near Clifford's Tower, the York Army Museum, and many other interesting attractions. We attended a one-man "Christmas Carol" performance that was brilliant. Would definitely return.
Very welcoming, accidentally walked past , and curiously wanted to know what the queue outside was for. Was told it was a comedy. So stayed to watch. Really enjoyed ourselves, really good improvisation. Didn't really know what we was in for. Was really surprised in a good way. Also the audience were so friendly and inviting. Whilst we were unsure in the queue, they were like ' oh don't go , please stay '. Was very touched by the friendly acceptance in a world full of uncertainty.
This place is actually home. I’ve been here for the past months or so and it’s amazing! Everyone who works here it’s just brilliant. I’ve enjoyed my time here at Friargate Theatre and I pray I do come back again. Worked on a beautiful piece with a bunch of talented individuals who are just the BEST! They have a summer school for those who want to get into acting and gain experience on the stage and a so much more. I love this place! Everyone at Riding Lights are blessed! One of my favourite places to be and will always hold a special place in my heart.
