Story Craft Theatre

My Daughter and I have been attending Cassie & Janet’s Crafty Tales sessions at York Theatre Royal every Friday for the past 18 months, it has truly become a highlight of our routine. From the moment we arrive we’re welcomed into a world of imagination, creativity, and joy. Cassie and Janet are both so engaging with the children and that is reciprocated by the kids who can’t help but mirror their enthusiasm. My little girl loves the crafty element and can’t wait to find out what the theme is for each week. She also enjoys learning the makaton sign. The classes have done so much to nurture my daughters imagination and I am so pleased we found Crafty Tales as the perfect way to spend our pre-school Fridays. Beyond the weekly classes, we’ve also had the pleasure of attending a number of Story Craft theatre performances, they are the best fun! They’re brilliantly performed and the use of puppets and everyday items as props is so imaginative. The care, and detail that goes into each production is lovely to see. We will miss our Crafty Tales Fridays when she moves on to school in September but luckily her Storycraft Theatre Birthday party in October, and hopefully catching up with them at their theatre shows, will soften the blow!

Storycraft theatre are pure magic. Both of my boys have adored their shows from an early age. Their fun and energy brings children's imagination to life. We were lucky enough to secure a birthday party slot for my youngest and he had the most incredible birthday. The whole process was bespoke from the theming to his favourite song. We can't thank Cassie and Janet enough for their hard work and dedication to bringing light to so many children's lives.

Janet & Cassie absolutely made my little girls birthday. The party was so imaginative I've never seen anything like it, all the children were completely engaged throughout and a number of parents came up to me afterwards to say it was the best children's party they've ever been to! Highly recommend them to anyone!

The Storycraft Theatre made my little girl’s birthday truly magical! But the magic wasn’t the only element that made it something special. Janet and Cassie went above and beyond to make Erin comfortable and happy, being able to share information using the form beforehand meant that the party was entirely bespoke to meet her needs and she loved every minute of it! The minute they arrived on a rainy Saturday afternoon I knew that I had nothing to worry about. They welcomed every child on arrival and soon had them giggling and keen to make their own sparkly crown at the craft table. The songs (picked by Erin) were well received and the story that the pair told with numerous (and undetectable) entrances in various roles and costumes kept the children wildly entertained!From unicorns, to knights and even Royalty the children loved every bit! After food and cake time the parachute play was a big hit, followed by pass the parcel and a conga line (and don’t forget the bubble machine!) Each child received a certificate and left happy. We cannot recommend Storycraft Theatre enough for such a memorable and stress-free super fun party for our little 3 year old wildling! Book them now, you won’t regret it!��️

I've seen several Story Craft Theatre shows and they are always a total joy! My little boy loves Janet and Cassie and is totally absorbed in the world's they create. As a Mum, they're a reliable hit for my little one. As a theatre programmer, I'm always looking for ways to book their show as I know my audiences will love it.
