This was unique and fun experience for us - a walking tour that blends horror stories with the city's history. Our host was funny and engaging, and the tales were interesting (and sad). The tour stared right on time - and costs 10 pounds a head. It lasted around 1 hour 10 minutes (we were a small group). A logistic issue - it was quite cold, rainy and windy that night, so would recommend one be prepared to walk around as per the weather!
Good fun and informative. The walk was about 1hr 20min with lots of stops and stories. It was busy on the Saturday night but it was easy to listen while out and about. No need to book and cash is needed if paying on the night.
We went on the 8pm walk on Thursday 13 November, I can’t remember the guides name but he was super good!!! It was pretty cold but there was so much to take in that I didn’t notice. Lots of grisly stories and lots of interesting facts from the 15th & 16th centuries right up to current day sightings. The guide spoke well and everyone could hear easily, he was happy to answer questions and we even laughed at some of the tales! Really do recommend this as something you should do whilst in York.
Mark has the best voice ever and is incredibly entertaining and witty. I felt as if I were watching a play— very cool. The 90 or so minute walkabout was great fun, and Mark took great care in ensuring safety and tried to get to know as many people as he could. He also took great care to ensure two ladies with mobility challenges were able to keep up and prompted them to sit when possible. There is no guarantee that you’ll see or hear ghosts— that’s not what this is about. But you never know…But, this tour is about wonderful storytelling about death, execution, murder, and so forth, and it delivers! Don’t pay attention to the hater reviews by some— not sure what they were looking for, but for a few quid this experience was worth it. Cheers
My partner and I went on this ghost tour tonight. ‘Ghostman Pat’ was very informative & engaging. He was very funny and brought all the stories to life. Such a lovely gent and amazing at what he does. Definitely don’t miss out!
