Fantastic tour provided by Ferah, well paced walking around a busy Saturday in York, lots of “bits and bobs” (code for history lessons and key York historical moments), genuinely enjoyable experience, thoroughly recommended.
Alfred is extremely knowledgeable and knows how to engage his audience with fascinating stories and insights about York’s rich history. The tour was well balanced with a small group, we felt very welcomed! I highly recommend Alfred to anyone looking for a memorable and enriching tour in York.

We were a small group of 8. Alfred was a great guide. He did an excellent job in walking us through the history of York from the Romans to the railways and was able to link the development of the city to landmarks that we passed - with a great commentary, extraordinary historical knowledge and a lot of humourous anecdotes thrown in. One of the best walking tours I have been on and I would thoroughly recommend this tour.
Ferah was an excellent, deeply knowledgeable guide for our walking tour with Yorktour. She provided historical context about the Anglo Saxons, Romans, Vikings, Normans, up to the present day-- as well as interesting details. The overview of York was a great way to start our weekend visit.
