I have been attending Robs classes for several years now and believe I owe my health and stamina and positive outlook to his teaching. His classes are always challenging and his teaching style means that you progress with his gentle encouragement along your own personal yoga journey. Highly highly recommended for people of all ages and stages of their yoga journey.
Having practiced other styles of yoga for some years I attended Rob's Ashtanga beginners course earlier this year. Five months later I'm attending Improvers sessions and have a regular home practice - a result of Rob's encouragement and inclusive teaching style. Ashtanga is a demanding but hugely rewarding discipline which has improved my flexibility and strength but has also made me calmer, more patient and, I think, more compassionate. I leave classes tired but full of joy; I can't recommend Rob's teaching highly enough if you want to make lasting improvements to your life!
Beyond any shadow of doubt the best yoga in York. Rob's classes cater for all levels and there are people from all walks of life. This is time very well spent. Rob is highly motivated, knows his students and works hard in every class to help them achieve their goals. You never feel uncomfortable or out of place. A good mix of females and males in most classes.
So I started yoga at 40yo with a back injury. I found a local class that was great as an into to yoga and helped with my injury. I soon realised that I needed a more challenging yoga class to complement my level of fitness, my sporting desires and also because I realised that if I could find the right class, yoga was something to include in my fitness regime. I found exactly what I was looking for in the dynamic balance class with Rob at City Yoga. A challenging class for me, but after the first couple of months I have felt many benefits. My main sporting focus is long distance cycling, comfort on the bike is very important to me as sometimes i spend over 20hrs in the saddle almost none stop. The dynamic balance class has gone way past my expectations in helping me recover from a back injury... but gone on to have the unexpected benifit of improving my position on the bike making me more comfortable and faster. I would highly recommend this class.
If you want a strong solid physical practice then Rob is your man. I've been in and out of his classes for 20+ years. I'm back in now and benefiting more than ever. Thank you Rob for your faith and consistency 🙏
