The Cavendish Hotel is a family run establishment with very good quality home cooking and a friendly relaxed atmosphere. It is situated on the south side of Scarborough, close to the famous Spa, Italian Gardens, Oliver’s Mount and the town centre. It is approximately a 10 minutes walk to the beach.
Arranged over 2 floors, all en-suite rooms in the hotel are spacious, comfortable and tastefully decorated with family, double and twin rooms available. For your comfort, we pride ourselves on the cleanliness of our accommodation.
We are a licensed hotel, and also have an array of entertainment facilities in our Guest Lounge, including digital flat screen with Freeview, VHS player, DVD player and Wii Console. A selection of games, videos and DVD’S are available free of charge.
We welcome children and do our best to make you and them as comfortable and relaxed as possible, with children’s menus, cot & bedding, highchair, baby listening and portable VHS player to go into rooms plus free loan of videos.

The Cavendish Hotel is a fine base from which to explore Scarborough’s many attractions including the Castle, Sealife Centre, Peasholm Park, Rotunda Museum and the famous Alan Ayckbourn Stephen Joseph Theatre. For those that wish to explore further afield the North York Moors Railway is based at Pickering , Whitby is a 40 minute drive and Historic York is easily accessible by road and train. Walkers and cyclists have an array of local scenic routes to follow.
