If I wish anyone to believe my reviews then I have to give the good with the bad. Upon getting to my room it really did have a strong smell of damp dog. I have no issue with dogs being allowed in the rooms and I'm sure it was a service dog. However, this is where not being able to open windows becomes an issue; you cannot properly air out a room. On the plus side, the staff were extremely apologetic and quickly found me a different room which was great. When I went down for my prepaid evening meal, it turns out that the chef hadn't turned up for work. Not the fault of anyone working there that evening and, once again, hugely apologetic and assured me that this would be refunded and helped make suggestions of where I could find and alternative locally. (Beverley Hills Diner if you're interested and it was lovely and only a couple of minutes walk away). I have always found Premier Inn staff to be friendly and helpful but it really does seem that the more northerly you are, the more friendly and happy they seem to be. Finding me an iron and board and then a charger for my phone (because this numpty left his at home) was no problem for them. Location was easy to find and although they do not have their own car park, the multi storey is right next door with the only downside being you have to pay for this. This is stated on the website so was not a surprise to me. All in all, a nice place to stay and so close to getting five stars.

Stayed one night 22nd August. Young woman showed us how to use screen check in ( did it for us) room lovely, evening meal lovely, breakfast great. The staff are out of this world. Nothing too much bother. Had good laugh & natter about holidays. Thanks to all staff.

Built a few years ago and needs a bit of TLC. Rooms are clean and comfortable. There's no bar here. Just a few fridges with bottled beers and wines. Half decent pub that does food just over the road. Location is great for the Minster and the shopping center next door. There's a Greggs for your breakfast butty! Railway station in nearby and is within walking distance. The old town center is a bit further away but again, it's walkable.

Clean and tidy. No place to park or store a bike. I hope mine is still there in the nearby multistorey when I get out after breakfast... Later edit... it was. Breakfast was excellent.

Rooms were acceptably clean and spacious. Great as it's right next to a great town center.
