Walk: Hawes to Aysgill Force Circular
A walk of just under 4 miles to the lesser known but equally stunning Aysgill Force waterfall, with spectacular dales views along the way. Pass the church and take the left turn, signed for Gayle Lane. The lane climbs between the church and cemetery before coming to a field. Cross the field on the paved path until you reach the road. Turn left to the bridge in the middle of Gayle. On the near side of the bridge turn right at the footpath sign. Pass the houses and then turn left crossing a stone stile.Climb the field beyond and continue to the signpost marked Aysgill Force. Head half left down towards Gayle Beck. Cross a stile in a wall down to the beck on the left and head across the field to a gap in the wall. The path runs across the slope, above the beck, eventually joining a wall to the right. Follow this down to the beck just by a footbridge. Turn left down the near side of the beck seeing the spectacular Aysgill Force. Below the gorge the path passes a small barn. Cross a stile beyond this and through a gap in the wall on the far side of a narrow field. Just beyond, look for a set of steps leading up from the beck. Cross a stile at the top, continue to the next stile to rejoin the original path.

Walk: Hawes to Hardraw
Soak up the views across Wensleydale and follow in the footsteps of James Herriot with a visit to βThe Droversβ. Gaze at the wonder of Hardraw Force, England highest single drop waterfall. Turn right at the road over the bridge. At the junction on your left (signed industrial estate) take the footpath signed Pennine Way, Hardraw. Follow the stone slab path. Continue on the road to Haylands Bridge. After 100m, take the footpath on the right signed Sedbusk. Note this is the point to which you will return later in the walk. Follow the footpath over a packhorse bridge. Bear right, through a stile, across a field to a gated stile. Diagonally right is a stile signed Sedbusk. Follow the path leading straight up across the field, through a wall stile and across and up a steep hill, keeping the wiggly wall on your left. Leave the field onto a lane, take the path across the lane and walk diagonally across the field to the wall stile. This path leads, in a straight line, across several fields via wall stiles. Go through the farmyard and carry on along the tarmac track ahead. This meets a road. Turn left down the road for 30m then take the drive on the right signed Simonstone Hotel. Before the hotel entrance there is a stile with a wooden gate on the left with a footpath marker. Go through this stile, follow the path towards a farm ahead. At West House Farm follow the path past the front of the house, through a gate, and around the far side of the house. Follow the stepped and paved path steeply downhill towards Hardraw hamlet,at the foot of the hill. At the bottom go through the gate and emerge next to the Green Dragon pub β The Drovers in All Creatures Great and Small. To reach the waterfall, walk behind the pub via the cafΓ© entrance.(fee payable) Take the marked paths up both sides of the river to get the different views of Hardraw Force made famous in the Robin Hood Prince of Thieves film. Turn right onto the lane in front of the pub. Just before the bridge turn left. (signed Pennine Way / Hawes) Go through a kissing gate behind the houses. Follow the paved path across several fields. Where the path splits keep to the upper folk. You eventually reach a gated stile at the road. Turn right and in 200m you will reach the foot path to Sedbusk encountered earlier in the walk. Retrace your outward steps back to the car park.

Walk: Askrigg
A brisk walk around the lovely countryside of Askrigg. As the road splits, veer right to carry on Main Street onto Mill Lane. In the field after Broad Close, look to the left and take the footpath on the left. Follow the clear path into the trees, and across Paddock Beck via the footbridge. Turn right on the path instead of going straight, and follow the line of the trees. Ahead are three junctions with other footpaths; ignore the one to the left and then the one to the right, and at the third, turn to the right to again follow the edge of the trees on the right. The path is clear on the ground as it follows the line of the beck, until it crosses over it via a footbridge. The path now turns to the left to follow the edge of the trees on your left until it reaches a dual-walled track on the right. Turn right and walk down the track, called Low Straights Lane. Carry on along this track, eventually turning right on on the fourth footpath to branch off on the right. Follow the clear path on the ground to the left of the barn and then follow the line of the trees on your left through two fields to go past another barn on the left. Then follow the wall on the left to the gate at the bottom. Turn left and follow the clear footpath between the buildings in Askrigg on Moor Road. Turn left Turn right after a house and before an area of grass on the right, and follow this track into the fields. Veer to the left into the next door field, and good through the various gates to reach the road Howgate via a gate, Turn right, then turn left at the next road junction to walk down Low Gate. At the first public footpath sign, marked Aysgarth, turn left through the gate. Head to the right of the barn, then into the narrow gap between the boundary walls, before crossing over the next wall via the stile and then heading to the left of the next barn. Join the lane, Thwaite Holme Lane, and turn left, following the lane until it crosses Newbiggin Beck towards Nappa Mill. Turn right on the path, crossing over the beck again, and follow the River Ure to reach a road. Turn left to follow the road as it bends, but then turn right on the footpath before the road crosses over the river. Ignore the diagonal path to the right, but continue straight on along the side of the river. When you reach a T-junction of paths, turn right and follow the clear path past the sewage works to the road. Turn right and follow the road all the way back to the car park.

Walk: Hawes
A calm walk through the town of Hawes. With plenty a shops to see on your way through, this walk is perfect for an afternoon out. After approximately 60m from the bridge, turn left up the cobbled footpath signposted to Gayle. The next 70m of this route are cobbled with a gradient of 1:7. After this point, the footpath levels out with some slight gradients up to 1:10. Most of the length is constructed of stone flags at a width of 100cm. There is a rest area halfway along the route.
