Simple accommodation with just enough room for us all to sit together and eat/play games. Ample parking; occasional public transport connections. Helpful host. Pretty village with minimal amenities. Well-located for coast, moors and forest, but these aren't easy to access without a car.

I went with a group of friends for 2 days. The place and rooms are very good. The mattress and covers are clean. The neighbours are excellent and very polite. The place is very calm, you need a car to go to Dalby forest. The only thing I wish for the place is deep clean for floor carpet or better ventilation system.

Our large group had an amazing stay at YHA Dalby Forest. The location is perfect for outdoor activities, surrounded by beautiful trails in the North York Moors. The hostel was clean, cosy, and well-equipped, with friendly communicative owner who made us feel welcome. Ideal for groups looking to explore nature and relax together. Highly recommended!

The pluses: Excellent location and there is plenty to see and do in the area. The rooms are centrally heated and the showers nice and hot. The minuses: the facilities at the hostel are not overall, up to the standard I would expect for the money I paid. There was little or no real storage space in the rooms. Some essential amenities such as the microwave and the cooker were not working properly. In fact, the oven failed us on the last day of our visit. The kitchen is not fit for purpose and in an unsafe condition.

One of the smaller Youth Hostels. Volunteer warden so different one most weeks. Excellent, enthusiastic and very knowledgeable about the area and organisations. Good clean facilities, clearly a lot of thought has gone into making it eco friendly. Common room cosy, leather seats as well as dining furniture, wood burning stove and lots of games and maps. Kitchen bit small but had all the equipment you would need to cook.
