I have come back to Niro cafe after a long time maybe 6/7 years and the staff were courteous and helpful, the trainee behind counter was very helpful and observant, I had my mocha which I have to admit tasted exceptionally nice, although I feel the leather chairs could do with an upgrade, also the interior could be a little bit more clean, there were drip marks down the counter where we order I shall add photos, other then that I feel I would definitely like to go enjoy a cuppa here again because it’s got a cosy feeling over all I enjoyed my little stay.21/10/24 16:25 today I have come here again and I have to admit it’s not improving if anything opposite but still almost all the rest were closed maybe I am loosing coffe taste but here I have to ask for cream and still no chocolate on top and no extra side flake or biscuit, here I have to admit In Halifax best coffee value for money and I have to say taste is cafe @ number one with out any doubt in my mind but they and the staff there are probably the most welcoming and friendly, 21/02/25 again I have just come here and seen that the chairs have improved but I asked why I have not got a saucer with my large mocha the young man behind the counter said you do not get it with a large cup seems odd, where do I rest my spoon I thought, I mean am not sure if this is how professional they traine there staff, but I wold have thought he would have just brought a sauser to please the customer, anyway that’s the difference between most cafe places and Number 1 near Halifax bank the staff in there are extremely professional and very very helpful and that’s why every opportunity I get I make sure I have a coffee there but as it was after 4 pm I had to make a choice and I came here I think I will have to try a different one if the number 1 is closed, I mean just have a look at the spoon surly they can spend some mo ey to get some newer ones ……. So I have added a photo of the coffe @ no1 must try here if you want to indulge in good manners as well as a great coffee
This place is filthy!!!!!! All areas behind counter were disgusting. They have not been cleaned to any kind of standard for a long while, and I’m not a clean freak before anyone says owt!!! The place has not been cleaned properly probably ever. Would not use this place ever again and price was extortionate. I want to know how they get away with it and what hygiene rating they have? Over 35 quid for three of us to have a sandwich and coffee, I didn’t get a bun but 2 did, I being a true Yorkshireman refused!
Coffee was absolutely divine! Usually the coffee here is hit or miss But Nick’s coffee is some of the best I’ve had. Every cup is consistently smooth, full of flavour, and clearly made with care. You can tell he knows what he’s doing and actually takes pride in it. His customer service is always on point friendly, attentive, and somehow manages to stay calm and kind even when it’s busy during a rush. His smile definitely adds a lot too!
My go to place for a coffee in Halifax, good location to chill out and watch the world go by,cappuccino is my favourite drink, it's up there with the best,I've eaten both sweet and savoury food which has always been excellent and a great crew working at any given time of the day, highly recommended.
Nice decor, friendly and helpful staff, good range of food and drinks including vegetarian and vegan options. Good mix of seating over two floors, outdoor seating too. Nice view over the Victorian market building. Wi-fi access.
