|A popular brewery in the Yorkshire Wolds is joining forces with a local running club for an exciting day of trail races this September. Wold Top Brewery and the Bridlington Road Runners are coming together for the fourth time to host an event that promises fun for all ages and abilities.
Trail Races at Wold Top Brewery
On Saturday, 5th September, runners can take part in both 10k and 5k all-terrain races around the scenic Wold Top Brewery farm. This year, there will also be a special children’s 1k fun run, making it a perfect day out for families. Alongside the races, there will be a hot dog van serving tasty treats and an option for campers to stay overnight at the award-winning brewery, which is perched atop the stunning Wolds.
Brewery director and enthusiastic runner, Alex Balchin, expressed excitement about the upcoming event:
“Starting from the brewery, you'll run around the Wold Top farm, finishing back at the brewery bar for a well-deserved pint and some food!"
Race Details and Entry Information
The races cater to various fitness levels, with a focus on making the 5k more accessible. As Alex noted, “We have repeated the popular 5k option this year to make it more accessible to people who are more familiar with the Park Run distance than 10k.” Here are the key details for the races:
5k Run: Costs £12 (affiliated runners £10)
10k Run: Costs £22 (affiliated runners £20)
Children’s 1k Fun Run: Suggested donation of £2, with proceeds going to St. Catherine’s Hospice
All participants will receive a medal, a finishers’ pint, and have access to first aid, food, and live music throughout the day. Entries must be completed online by the deadline of 30th August, and there will be no entries allowed on the day itself. For those wishing to camp, basic pitches for caravans and motorhomes are available for £14, providing a scenic setting for an overnight stay.
