Had a fantastic stay, room very comfortable and literally 30 seconds from the restaurant. Quality of food is exceptional, surroundings very relaxing, fantastically dog friendly, staff brilliant, will definitely become a regular. Beautiful scenery and fantastic walking countryside. Love the place.

We had a fantastic stay at this lovely pub with our two dogs. The décor throughout is stylish and welcoming, and our room was spacious, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a relaxing break. The food was excellent, great quality and generous portions that really hit the spot after a day out exploring. The service was also brilliant, with happy, friendly staff who made us feel at home. A special mention to Louise, who was incredibly helpful and recommended some fantastic local walks. All in all, a great stay and excellent value, in a perfect location close to Helmsley and York. We wouldn’t hesitate to return! 🐾🍽️🏡

We had a wonderful stay. The rooms were clean, warm, comfortable and well-equipped. The staff were all very friendly, helpful and welcoming. Special shout out to Louise and Ben. The food was excellent and they accommodated the dietary needs of one of our party perfectly. If in the area a recommended place to stay, we will return.

Went for Sunday lunch with the wife and was not disappointed. The drive out was scenic, there is parking round the back of the hotel. I have a wheat allergy and most of the menu had a gluten free option. The food was delicious and I was stuffed by the time we left. The service and atmosphere was amazing. One of the best Sunday lunches I've had. I would highly recommend that you visit.

Utterly fabulous Sunday lunch! We arrived without a booking but were warmly welcomed and quickly fitted in — a great start. I have several food intolerances, and the front-of-house team couldn’t have been more accommodating. They took the time to check everything with the chef and made sure I could enjoy the meal without worry. What stood out most was the food itself: wonderfully simple in the very best sense of the word. There was nothing fussy or overcomplicated — just great ingredients, cooked with real skill and confidence, and the beef was perfect. The flavours spoke for themselves, proof that it takes a truly talented chef to elevate basic ingredients into something so memorable. And it really was hence the review.... A perfect example of how less really can be more. Their cider was fab too. Overall a utterly fab meal that we talked about in the car heading home!
