Welcome to Yorkshire
Excitement is building in Halifax as the summer concert series at the iconic Piece Hall welcomes a lineup of new artists, promising an unforgettable season of music. The addition of rising solo stars, bands, and even an Oasis-backed DJ adds to the already impressive roster of talent set to perform this summer.
New Artists Join Line-Up

This year's summer series is part of the TK Maxx presents Live At The Piece Hall events, featuring 42 live shows across the summer. Among the newly announced acts are The Clause, who will be special guests for The Kooks on Friday, June 19. This Birmingham-based four-piece is known for their eclectic mix of musical styles, blending the swagger of the Sixties with the grooves of the Eighties and the energy of the Nineties.
Opening for The Kooks will be Kate Couriel, an electric violinist from Manchester. Couriel has a unique approach to music, having developed her skills with the Hallé Youth Orchestra before venturing into different musical genres. She has gained recognition for her performances with the Seb Lowe band, supporting British indie legends like Paul Weller and Richard Ashcroft.
Exciting Support Acts
Adding to the excitement, DJ Dan will kick off the Alex James’ Britpop Classical show on Sunday, July 19. Known for his role as the after-show DJ for Oasis and other big names, DJ Dan is also the mastermind behind the popular Propaganda club night. His experience spans across major festivals like Glastonbury and V Festival, promising an electrifying start to the evening.
On Saturday, August 8, Tom A Smith will join The K’s as a special guest. Smith, who has been recognised as a rising star, previously opened for the legendary band James in Halifax three years ago. He has garnered support from music icons like Elton John, who invited him to perform at his 2022 show in Hyde Park. Smith's music has resonated with listeners on stations such as BBC Radio 1 and BBC 6 Music.
Another exciting addition to the line-up is Lady Of Mars, a female-fronted indie-rock band that will also perform on August 8. They have built a reputation for their engaging live performances, sharing stages with bands like Don Broco and The Damned. Their recent single, Girls That Play Guitar, showcases their distinct sound that combines influences from various rock legends.
