We had a family camping trip over the bank holiday weekend. Good well maintained site. Lots for the kids to do. From the site you can walk the Cleveland way to Scarborough 7miles or Filey beach (nearest sandy beach) 2.5 miles.
Staying here for 3 weeks. I love it here. Small play areas for kids, water points and refuse bins are regular Not far from main attraction area but far enough not to be disturbed by it. It has few down sides though, only one toilet and shower block for the whole site and if you want to use it early then be prepared for a wait. Approx 9//10 showers when fully open (not counted) and approx same with toilets. Only 1 for disabled and family use. Site can get boggy when raining, and not a lot of the pitches are level. For me the surrounding areas and views make my holiday. I do feel safe on this site and that counts for a lot.
Nicely located not far from Scarborough Bridlington filey by car or bike, site well maintained shower blocks keped clean and tidy, staff helpful friendly polite. Update september 23, Touring site starting to look a bit neglected and a dumping ground for what look like old caravans, the dog walk area has 4 vandalised caravans now with broken windows and loose glass ready to fall out "very dangerous for children and dogs" they appear to have been there for months. Update, caravans now removed.
The only things I can review about blue dolphin are the silver graded caravan and the shop . The caravan was ok but was underwhelmed as the previous year we stayed in a bronze grade at thornwick bay. The difference was quite a surprise. While blue dolphin did provide two TVs and second toilet off the main bedroom it lacked the wow factor after having a Bluetooth speaker system at thornwick bay. Considering we was a party of four only two beds were made up on arrival so we had to sort that out ourselves. The wardrobe space in the main bedroom was taken over by spare quilts and pillows. One of the smaller bedrooms was lacking wardrobe space . . The shop was well stocked with a good variety of items. Sorry I cannot comment on anything else as we spent our time visiting places of interest and dolphin spotting .
DO NOT BOOK HERE !! staff are extremely rude pitches are all on down hill so when sleeping your falling down your bed and rain runs all the way through your tent would not recommends every tent and caravan was all on a tilt allowed people to stay 2 tents and 1 pitch what’s a health and safety hazard yet made someone else of our party book their own pitch. Refused our refund after saying we could have it back after changing from a week to only 3 nights AVOID AT ALL COST ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE MENTAL HEALTH AND SEN MEMBERS IN YOUR PARTY 🤬
