|Get ready for a serious blast from the past, because two of the biggest names in R&B and pop are joining forces for a tour that sounds absolutely epic. The GRAMMY award-winning hitmaker NE-YO and the multi-platinum recording artist Akon have just announced they’re heading out on a massive co-headlining global tour.
It’s called the ‘Nights Like This’ tour, and it’s set to be a huge celebration of all those era-defining hits that were the soundtrack to, well, pretty much everything in the 2000s. Produced by Live Nation, this is more than just a concert; it’s a full-on nostalgia trip, bringing two legendary artists together on one stage for a night of unforgettable music.
A tour for the ages
This isn’t your standard gig with a support act. The ‘Nights Like This’ tour is a proper co-headlining show, where NE-YO and Akon will share the stage together. They’ll be performing in a dynamic, back-and-forth set, meaning fans get a unique experience packed with sing-along anthems and classic club bangers. The whole idea is to create a massive party atmosphere, taking everyone back to those nights out when their music dominated the dance floor. With a 57-city run planned, this global tour is a huge undertaking, bringing together two generational artists whose music has shaped pop culture for decades. From soulful slow jams to high-energy club hits, every single night is designed to feel like a massive celebration of an incredible era in R&B and pop music.
The hits you know and love
Let’s be honest, the setlist for this tour is going to be incredible. These two artists have a ridiculously long list of hits between them. Think about it: you’ve got NE-YO’s massive tracks like “So Sick,” “Closer,” and the anthem “Miss Independent.” Then there's Akon, the artist behind absolute bangers like “Smack That,” “Lonely,” and “Right Now (Na Na Na).”
These weren't just songs; they were everywhere. They were on every radio station, on every TV music channel, and played in every club. This tour is a chance to hear all those incredible songs live, performed by the original artists. For anyone who grew up with this music, it’s a perfect nostalgia rush. And for newer fans, it’s a chance to see two masters of their craft performing the hits that made them famous. These are the tracks that topped the Billboard charts and became the soundtrack for millions.

He’s the genius behind Beyoncé’s “Irreplaceable” and Rihanna’s “Take a Bow.” As a solo artist, he’s had two No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200 and has generated over 23 billion streams. He's a true R&B superstar.
Meanwhile, Akon is an award-winning, multi-platinum recording artist who has dominated the Billboard charts with his unique sound. He's sold over 35 million albums, earned five Grammy nominations, and famously launched the careers of stars like Lady Gaga and T-Pain through his record labels.
