Miller & Carter Sheffield Parkhead

We went to Miller&Carter for the first time tonight to celebrate our 9th anniversary and what a lovely experience it was. From start to finish everything was spot on. We were served by gentleman called Alec and he was so nice polite and attentive. We didn’t wait long for anything. My partner forgot to ask for a starter but Alec made sure we didn’t wait too long to get it as mine was already served. Food was very nice good value for money as portions are right amount of food I would say on bigger side. Cocktails and drinks were served quickly and tasty too. Definitely will be back soon! The atmosphere was just what we were looking for calm peaceful and relaxing ( Tuesday night ), the staff were helpful, attentive and polite and gave a nice vibe. The food was delish, we went off the set menu and had 3 courses which I thought was a very good value for money. Overall it was great we definitely will be coming back to this specific venue!

We had a lovely meal at Miller and Carter. Our server was Lily who was friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. Our grill chef was TC and all of our steaks were cooked to perfection. Highly recommend the butchers block! Lily also brought over a complimentary dessert plate as we were celebrating my husbands birthday.

Miller and Carter - Visit on Saturday 24th January 2026, 7:00pm Booking We booked the restaurant for our son’s 23rd birthday, as it’s his favourite place to eat. Unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing and poorly managed from start to finish. We arrived 30 minutes early knowing the restaurant gets busy. Reception informed us they were behind on service and asked us to wait in the bar area with a buzzer to alert us when our table was ready. After 45 minutes with no notification, we returned to reception and were told the buzzer was dead. When we asked why we hadn’t been fetched if the table was ready, we were told it still wasn’t prepared and that staff would come to find us instead of issuing a new buzzer. We waited a further 15-20 minutes before being seated - over an hour after we first arrived. Staff offered a free drink to apologise for the delay, which we accepted. However, when the drinks were brought to the table, the waiter dropped the tray over a nearby couple, soaking both of them and their coats. This caused understandable upset, with the couple commenting on tables being crammed together - we also found our group of eight was squashed into a corner with barely any room to move. We were ready to order immediately, as we all knew what we wanted, We were told the restaurant was very busy and behind schedule. In total, it was 2.5 hours from walking through the door until we received our main meals. When they arrived, we had to remind staff we had also ordered lettuce wedge starters, which were then brought out while we were eating our mains. To be clear, the food itself was delicious and our server was polite and apologetic throughout. However, the level of disorganisation was unacceptable - from faulty buzzers and failure to notify us when our table was ready, to significant delays and incorrect order sequencing. It was clear the restaurant was massively overbooked, with queues forming inside and outside the building. We paid £267 for the meals but will not be returning, as this experience was far beyond reasonable standards. It absolutely breaks my heart to post this review as I've had to delete my previous review from 7 years ago that was fantastic we come here for special occasion family birthdays and anniversaries all the time. we will not be back.

Had a lovely visit to Miller and Carter 18. 11.25 from the minute we arrived everyone was extremely friendly and attentive but not in an overbearing way . They were super helpful and patient while I sorted out something on my phone. It’s not somewhere we usually go , although we have been once before for a family celebration a couple of years ago and had lovely food then. We had been given a gift voucher for a present , we chose to go late afternoon as they had an excellent offer on You could get a starter and a main for £20 or you could add a dessert for a couple of pounds more . The starters were absolutely delicious we had the calamari and the chicken and shared . The main was delicious too, the steak was cooked to perfection and tasted heavenly , very flavourful we’ve had steak elsewhere and it can often be bland this was absolutely delicious! There is plenty to choose from on the menu , something to suit all tastes I’d say . The portion size is good we were pleasantly full after our meals . I also signed up free to Miller and carter so received a free glass of fizz ! Bonus ! Lovely treat ! Many thanks to Alec for his lovely service so friendly and welcoming and helpful! And many thanks to Dany the grill chef for cooking our Food ! Excellent service all round. The offers they do are excellent it means that you can eat out and have a lovely meal without breaking the bank . I would highly recommend. Thank you again we shall definitely be returning.
