•What happens when a group of nuns, a failing nursing home, and a high-stakes bicycle race collide? Pure chaos—and comedy!
Get ready for Laurent Tirard’s latest laugh-out-loud film, "Oh My Goodness!" (originally titled Juste Ciel!), hitting UK cinemas on Friday, 14th March 2025. This French comedy throws together an unlikely team of underdog nuns, a fierce rivalry, and a dash of divine intervention—delivering a feel-good ride that’s as heartwarming as it is hilarious.
A Race Against Time (and Rival Nuns)
When the local nursing home is on the verge of collapse, Mother Veronique (Valérie Bonneton) and the quirky sisters of the Convent of St. Benedict scramble to find a way to keep it afloat. Their prayers seem to be answered when they spot a poster for a bicycle race with a €25,000 cash prize—just enough to save the home.
There’s only one (well, two) problems:
- The sisters can't ride bikes to save their souls.
- Their biggest rivals—the nuns from another convent—are also entering, led by Mother Josephine (Sidse Babett Knudsen), who just happens to be Mother Veronique’s childhood nemesis.
With zero experience, a whole lot of determination, and maybe a few miracles, the convent’s most unconventional athletes gear up for the challenge of a lifetime.
Expect Laughs, Chaos, and Stunning French Scenery
Laurent Tirard, the filmmaker behind Little Nicholas and Up for Love, brings his signature mix of physical comedy, sharp wit, and heartfelt storytelling to this offbeat adventure. And if the slapstick nun antics don’t keep you entertained, the breathtaking Jura region of France—where the film was shot—certainly will.
