Residents at Meadowbeck Care Home in York recently joined in a global celebration by marking World Cocktail Day with a lively afternoon of fun and flavour. This special day, celebrated on May 13, commemorates the publication of the first recorded definition of a cocktail in 1806. It describes a cocktail as a “stimulating liquor, composed of spirits of any kind, sugar, water and bitters.” This year, Meadowbeck's residents embraced the spirit of the occasion by sampling a variety of cocktails and mocktails, making it a delightful day for everyone involved.
