Beautiful hotel with great views, we were on the 6th floor and it was absolutely amazing, The downside was booking this hotel to use the pool but not being told it was out of use. Would have been nice to be told in advance. Also the teas and coffees were not all refilled everyday, we stayed for 3 days, so we were able to compare. All in all a great place and near the city and everything was walking distance.

The team at Malmaison York were absolutely outstanding from start to finish. My mum used to work in the building over 46 years ago, and for her 70th birthday we planned a surprise visit that meant a lot to our whole family. The team helped us pull off something really special, including a night’s stay on the same floor Mum used to work on, and a surprise family meal. Every detail was carefully handled, communication was easy, and the service on the day was warm, calm, and genuinely thoughtful. Everything ran smoothly and it honestly couldn’t have gone any better. A huge thank you to everyone involved. We’ll remember it for a long time and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Malmaison York.

We stayed for two nights at the Malmaison York. Overall it was disappointing. Positive was the breakfast (delicious and nice staff) and the bathroom. Otherwise the room itself was quite dusty and smelled strongly of body odour as soon as you walked in. We think it was the carpet... The second problem was that we weren't allowed to leave our luggage behind reception past a certain time when checking out, which cut short our anniversary weekend. The staff didn't really seem bothered to provide a solution. For the price I would probably opt for a nicer room in a Travelodge.

We went to Mal Maison York on New Years Eve for a meal with some friends. Food and service was fantastic but a special mention to Ryan behind the bar who was outstanding! The cocktails and attention to detail I have not had in many places before. He is an absolute credit to himself and the business, a real asset. Keep up the great work Ryan, well done

Lovely clean hotel. Stayed in a standard room which was adequate for us. Linen and towels very high quality, bed was like sleeping on a cloud! We couldn’t find the fridge though. Great helpful and friendly staff.
