For context, I have OCD which can lead to panic attacks and, obviously, compulsions. These consist of doing certain things to make me feel at ease and it can take minutes or even hours to do these, it varies. I went in to have a browse as I was already out. I had an OCD trigger whilst in the store. I had genuinely only been walking around inside privately until staff asked me if I was ok and I told them I'd had a panic attack (to keep it subtle) and they understood and left me be. Now, a couple of hours went by and one member of staff came up to me and suggested to sit outside as they were concerned. I told them I would eventually and that I needed to go to the toilet. I was still trying to help my compulsion before and after heading to the toilet. On exit after, the same staff member and one of the security guards told me to leave/sit outside. They hadn't specified in any way they were kicking me out. The lady member of staff was ok with me but the security guy, not so much. After about 10 minutes, I tried going back in and he told me no. I told him and eventually the staff member about the OCD and everything else but he still really wasn't having it. This resulted in me phoning West Yorkshire Police to ask what to do about the situation since being technically classed as disabled, it can be considered discriminatory. They told me to go back up and just ask why they were doing what they were doing and if I had actually been kicked out since again, they never specified anything to me. The guy was still being ill mannered towards me and wouldn't give me a reason and I told both him and the woman that "At least I haven't shown up with a gang of lads, in a full trackie and walking about with my hand down my cock". She didn't have anything to say other than she wasn't arguing. I wasn't either. I just wanted some kind of understanding from them, especially the guy on security. I then phoned West Yorkshire Police back and this operator told me my options were hand the phone to the guy on security so they could speak to him and understand more or I could report the incident as a hate crime but it would mean having to receive a phone call from the police at some later date (I'm also on the spectrum as high functioning and I have been treated for OCD amongst other things before but OCD has changed over the years for me). I chose to ask the guy to answer the phone to speak to the operator in the end and again, he told me he wasn't answering any phone or anything at all and that they themselves had phoned the police and they were on their way. I was still on the phone to West Yorkshire Police as well and the operator asked me to ask for the crime reference number and he said "the crime reference number is you're not getting back in". So, really, they hadn't phoned anybody. They also asked an off-duty mental health paramedic, who happened to be there to do some shopping, to speak to me. She understood my situation completely and tried to speak to the guy on security herself and briefly tell him what I'd told her and she even agreed after with everything I had to say about the way he was. I personally think you might want to consider putting him on a mental health course of some kind. UPDATE: Massive, massive respect to Faye for being the most understanding out of everyone on the phone and then in person! Give her a promotion!
Quite a small Tesco, but usually has everything that I need and is also conveniently located next to the town centre. The staff at the checkouts are friendly too, so overall, it's a good supermarket!
Perfect shop good price and many promotions if you have club card it's perfect for saved money 💰
If you are driving the postcode takes you to the highstreet where you can't park. You have to take a 5 minute detour which takes you to the rear of the store. You also have to pay for parking, the only Tesco I've ever visited that requires this. To make things better the Hot Deli is closed. Waste of time and parking fee.
