Set within the heart of glorious Rosedale, Appledore Cottage is a beautiful secluded self-catering retreat for eight.

It's moments away from Rosedale Abbey with its small golf course, village shops and pubs and is within easy reach of Pickering, Kirkbymoorside and Goathland.

The cottage is surrounded by beautiful walking country and the large garden has wonderful views of the surrounding hills and the bubbling stream can be heard across the adjacent field.

Families are very welcome here, and you'll spend your stay under an hour from the fantastic Whitby coast or the attractions of York.

Other easily accessible attractions include the Ryedale Folk Museum, Pickering Castle, Go Ape!, Dalby Forest, Flamingo Land, Castle Howard and lots of other lovely villages, dales, streams and walks.

Our cottage has two twin rooms and two double rooms, making it suitable for a family with children or a group of friends. One of the twin rooms is on the ground floor.

The cottage features a spacious, modern kitchen including laundry facilities, a dishwasher, a cooker and a microwave, and there's a large dining table with space for everyone. Freesat TV, a DVD player and a music system are included for entertainment in the living room and the cottage includes an additional sitting room with similar facilities.

Our property features underfloor heating for your comfort, and there's a ground-floor shower room as well as the main bathroom. The cottage has both a wood burning stove and an open fire making it wondefully cosy on a cold day but also has plenty of access to the garden for sunny days to be enjoyed.

Although the cottage is fully modernised it remains charming and cosy. It is very well equipped and very comfortable. Bed linen and towels are provided and all fuel is included in the price with logs and coal available for the open fires. This really is a delightful cottage in the heart of some of the most fantastic countryside in the world!

Please note that the garden does have some "terracing" with a lm unprotected drop. While we welcome young children they should be supervised when playing in the garden. There is plenty of space away from the the "terracing" where children can play safely. Well behaved pets are also welcome by arrangement.
