Scarborough Argos (Inside Sainsbury's)

Bought two Lenovo tablets in the Scarborough store which showed a free £50 e-voucher ( offer ending 30 September). I asked the lady when I was paying how to claim it and she said there’s a voucher in each box. I thought that was odd so opened one up to check and of course there is no voucher. I asked Kelly (who seemed to be in charge) how I claim who then said nobody would have ever told me the voucher is in the box. You have to claim on line inOctober and set a reminder on my calendar . I pointed out that this is not made clear on the ordering screen in store when you buy it and that the offer ends 30 September but there’s no link to the Ts and Cs. “Well everyone knows you don’t get given vouchers , you have to claim it on line”. Kelly reluctantly agreed to my request of a refund and started to argue that I had opened one of them up to check for the voucher her colleague had told me was inside. No apology from either of them.

I haven't shopped at Argos for years, although yesterday I bought an air con unit in store that when I typed in my email address after paying for it I didn't receive an email receipt and wasn't given anything further by staff. It was too big in size when I got it home so went to return it this morning, took bank statement with me as no receipt email. The manager Becky was quite rude about it, asking why I hadn't received a receipt as it was "very strange" having showed her the transaction on my banking app that should have been enough, but instead was told to wait while she "investigated further into it", and asked me to describe what happened (infront of everyone else in the queue) "very strange maybe you didn't see the receipt when you paid for it as you should have had something" She did in the end refund me but the customer service was rubbish, instead of patronising your customers and being a jobsworth just work on better customer service and better manners. Won't be shopping at Argos again.
