Took 4 drums to fill up as we always do and the woman at the till wouldn't let us fill up, despite assuring her we had done it MANY times before, which we have. Looks like it depends in what mood they are in! Makes no sense! Esso in Whitby here we come!

5 stars for Gary. We broke down in the carpark at Sainsbury's and my wife went to get some coffees and a tea from the Costa machine in the service station. The machine wasn't able to provide a cup of tea, but after my wife explained to Gary that her mother has Alzheimer's and wouldn't drink coffee, like a knight in shining armour he came to the rescue. He said "you're in luck, I've just made a brew for the tanker driver, I'll make one for your mum". Three cheers for Gary at Sainsbury's service station in Whitby for going beyond the call of duty.

Nice enough petrol station. Fairly cheap but not quite the cheapest around. Thoroughly miserable staff who made me feel like I was a problem for interrupting their conversation (which they continued anyway). Rude staff too. Would not go back for these reasons alone
