A Memorable Stay with Historic Charm and Excellent Service We had a great stay at this beautiful location, surrounded by historic landmarks. The free tickets to the abbey were a lovely bonus, and the views from the back of the café were absolutely stunning. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful throughout our visit. After checking in, we noticed a rain leak in our room, but the team responded immediately and moved us to another room without any hassle. Their quick action and warm attitude made our experience even better. Highly recommended!

Never stayed at a YHA before. £80 for a 4 bed (two bunks) room. Nice and clean and warm with a good sized powerful shower. On site facilities included a great cafe bar. Nice food and had a cozy feel with plenty of seating. Draught lager and a good range of bottles. 'Kids meals' only £1 if adults dine. Nice cooked breakfast again kids £1. There's on site self catering facilities with a dining area. A tv room. The location is amazing. Right next to the abbey. Additional parking available just up the road. Literally all you need. Just a short walk to the 199 steps down into Whitby. Excellent value for money.

Good value but basic. £150 for a simple ensuite room. No room furniture apart from the bunk beds. I wish the so-called hot water was actually hot. I would say it is about 35°.Centigrade. I think to avoid legionella disease it needs to be at least 65°C? So be careful not to drink any of the tepid water. Bring your own towel (there’s no towel rai) and photo ID, a copy on your phone will do.

I stayed here on Thursday night. Very very clean, staff are superb. The room are spot on. i shared with three other guys (strangers) but all were well behaved and respectful. Headed down to The Passage to India for my tea..... utterly superb as usual.

Fabulous hostel in a fabulous location. YHA beds are not the comfiest but that is for practicality and cleaning. Otherwise a lovely place to stay with spectacular views over the town and out to sea from the cafe garden. I felt welcome, and safe whilst travelling on my own.
