York Valkyrie Sign French International Sarah Menaa

York Valkyrie have bolstered their squad for the remainder of the season with the signing of French international Sarah Menaa.

The 21-year-old arrives from Catalans Goddesses, where she helped secure three French Championship titles and earned four caps for France. Known for her versatility, Menaa can play both prop and second-row, and brings strong attacking presence, defensive power, and polished ball-handling skills.

“I’m really excited to come to York and have the opportunity to play in the Super League,” said Menaa. “It’s a huge challenge for me, and I’ll give everything I have to help the Valkyries go all the way!”

Lindsay Anfield, York’s Director of Rugby, praised the new recruit’s experience and physicality:

“Sarah is a hard-hitting middle who enjoys the contact side of the game. She’s trained with us before in Perpignan and showed she’s more than capable of competing at Super League level.”

Menaa could make her debut this Saturday against Leigh Leopards, as the Valkyrie continue their push through the second half of the season.
