Welcome to Yorkshire

|Yorkshire’s racing legacy continues to shine on the international stage as Beverley brothers Sam and Thomas Christie climbed to second place in the 2025 FIM Sidecar World Championship standings after a commanding performance in Hungary.

Round three of this year’s championship saw the Christies line up at the famous Pannónia-Ring, where they delivered another display of speed and teamwork to push the defending champions to the limit. After setting the fastest time in qualifying for the third consecutive event, the Beverley pair led the early stages of Saturday’s Sprint Race before being edged out by Britain’s Harrison Payne and France’s Kevin Rousseau.
Despite intense pressure from multiple world-class crews, the Christies held firm to secure second place in the shortened Sprint Race, collecting valuable points towards their championship campaign.
On Sunday, they lined up for the fifteen-lap Main Race determined to keep up the momentum. They maintained strong pace throughout, once again challenging at the front and crossing the finish line second behind Payne and Rousseau. Their double podium finish in Hungary moves them up to second overall in the championship table — and well within striking distance of the series lead.
The Christies’ rise is a proud moment for Beverley and for Yorkshire’s wider motorsport community. The brothers, well-known faces at circuits across the region and the UK, have steadily built a reputation for speed and consistency, proving they can match and beat the best sidecar crews in the world.
Their next challenge comes quickly, as the championship heads to Most in the Czech Republic this weekend (21–22 June) for round four. With only twelve points separating them from Payne and Rousseau at the top of the standings, local fans will be watching closely as the Beverley duo aim to take the fight for the title right to the final round.
Sidecar racing supporters can catch all the action from rounds four to seven streamed live on FIM-MOTO.TV.
