I can’t thank Stephen enough. He has given me my life back! I had a meniscus operation back in January and almost 9 months on, I am back to full fitness and enjoying all the activities that are such a huge part of my life. I have resumed fell running, cycling, in fact everything, including yoga which involves fully bending my knee. I cannot fault the care and attention I’ve received from Stephen, my physio Damian who managed my rehab, the team at the Yorkshire Clinic and Angie, Stephen’s secretary, who has been extremely helpful throughout. From the day of the operation I have not experienced any pain or discomfort. Although it’s been a long rehab and I’ve had to work at the exercises, it’s definitely been worth it to be where I am now. Stephen is a wonderful consultant and knee surgeon. I had a knee injury in July and then surgery in October he’s been nothing short of brilliant. Being highly active, it is disheartening to be unable to engage in full physical activity due to a knee injury. I recently underwent a meniscus tear repair on my knee by Mr. Guy, and I can unequivocally state that the experience from booking the appointment through to the successful of operation was exceptional from The Yorkshire Clinic Team. Today, I returned for a follow-up review and can confidently confirm that I have experienced no pain whatsoever. I am in the process of recovery and now have the ability to bend my leg without discomfort. Walking and movement have significantly improved, and I can discern the positive effects of the operation daily. I wholeheartedly recommend Mr. Guy and his team. I had been suffering with increasing left knee pain, calf and foot pain, gradual loss of movement of my knee, numbness of the foot, and constant pain in the leg at night keeping me awake. This was having a serious adverse effect on my social and working life. I decided to visit the Yorkshire Clinic. After an MRI scan I was quickly diagnosed with a meniscus tear, a ligament tear and a very large cyst in the back of my knee. This ‘Bakers’ cyst was pressing on the main nerves and blood vessels and causing the leg pain I was experiencing. Mr Stephen Guy was recommended by another surgeon due to the complicated nature of my problem as being “the best there is for soft tissue surgery”. From the start, he was welcoming, detailed, but explained clearly the issues. This put me at ease. He explained exactly what would happen and the potential risks so that I knew exactly what to expect. Mr Guy performed a multiple arthroscopy to repair the tears in the knee and then continued through the knee and removed as much of the cyst as possible during the procedure. The surgery went well, under general anaesthetic, and I was amazed that I walked out with no crutches the same day. After about 2 weeks the bruising and swelling had gone down and there was minimal scaring. I returned for a follow-up review after only 5 weeks and can confidently say that I am now experiencing no pain at all, sleeping perfectly and now have the ability to almost fully bend my leg back, and still improving! Walking and movement has significantly improved and I am feeling the benefits of the operation every day. During the follow up, Mr. Guy explained the complications of the operation and even showed me photos of the inside of my knee during the procedure. He was visibly excited by how well the procedure had gone, and so was I! He really has a genuine passion for his profession. I can highly recommend Mr. Guy, his team and all at the Yorkshire Clinic. I would like to express my greatest thanks for everything they have done for me.

Stephen Guy carried out the knee replacement on my right leg at the beginning of July 2024. From the first consultation through surgery and post operative care his skill, professionalism and attention to detail was first rate. Working with a team at the Yorkshire clinic I immediately felt secure and in safe hands. The procedures were fully explained by Stephen so I knew what to expect and the part I had to play in my recovery.
