This is a typical older Premier Inn. The rooms are comfortable but haven't been refurbished for a while (no Premier Plus features like coffee machines for example) and there is no air conditioning so my room had a fan running when I arrived. The shower in my room did have a leak so most of the hot water actually came out of the back of the tap rather than the head, so it was a little chilly each day I was there. Staff on the reception are really friendly. Breakfast is served in the adjoining pub, which you can reach via a connecting door from the hotel rather than going outside. Service there was OK but did feel a little frosty. Furnishings were looking a little sad with ripped cushions on some chairs. Parking is free for guests but you have to sign in on a tablet on the reception desk otherwise you'll get charged due to an ANPR camera. The hotel is easy to find just off a roundabout and is in a quiet location on the western outskirts of Hull, so if you're looking for somewhere in the town with things to do in the vicinity I'd look elsewhere.

We stayed for two nights and had a conjoining room. This was a perfect set up for a family of five. The staff had put on a scavenger hunt for children to find ice creams symbols to win a treat, which I thought was a lovely idea. Front desk staff were kind and helpful, interacting well with both the adults and the children, which made everyone feel welcome. Our rooms were clean and modern (the TV didn’t connect to many of the channels but we eventually managed to find CBeebies which worked). Comfortable beds. Towels etc. were well-stocked and we had plenty of beds to choose from. There was a play park, grass area, outdoor seating, restaurant and indoor play area (though this was mainly closed). Good sized car park. Good location, close to the Humber Bridge, Cottingham and a short drive to Hull City centre. The only real downfalls were: One lady who worked in the restaurant who my party felt had poor customer service. For identification, she was of slim build, with tied up long brown hair, wearing a black shirt and black cardigan, possibly in her 40s/50s. Her demeanour was poor and everything seemed like an inconvenience for her. It wasn’t just on one occasion dining with her, it was several and I also observed her interacting with other customers the same way. It was a real shame because every other staff member we interacted with were welcoming, friendly and were keen to help in whichever way they could. I apologise that this reflects badly on other staff members. She may just need additional training. The indoor play area was only open for half a day over the three day period we stayed. When I asked the lady above if the play area would be open today, she responded rudely, blaming staff shortages. No air con (it was a hot couple of days) but fans were provided. No lift so had to carry buggy/suitcases up/down stairs. I could hear running/jumping from the room or corridor above non-stop for a couple of hours, well into the night (11pm). This is a sound-proofing issue, which I can’t imagine would be an easy fix, but always good to note. We had a wonderful break here and we would definitely return 😀

Missus and son were able to go for a walk on the Bridge. Don't linger too long on the bridge though - the cops come and ask if you're ok, just minding your own business having a sit down. I guess there's a lot of jumpers.

We needed 2 nights accommodation near hull with breakfast and evening meal. Very polite staff and clean and comfortable rooms. The bar is a bit expensive but all in all we would recommend this premier Inn and brewers fayre .
