The visit to Nora Batty's Cottage was amazing! It was everything I expected...and so much more! Where do I start? There is so much memorabilia to the great comedy series 'Last of the Summer Wine' and it is presented tastefully and with respect. I Found myself spotting little things each day that I'd not seen the day before. An aspect of the Cottage that really really impressed me was how calming it is. I felt relaxed and very much at home. As for the town it's self? It has completely embraced 'Last of the Summer Wine' and then enhanced the experience with a special mention to the 'Wrinkled Stocking' Cafe who not only were able to supply a few stories of interest about the filming of the series ( they are next door to Nora's Cottage) they also cooked a local dish of Hot roast beef bap with onion gravey with onion rings just for me as I could not find it elsewhere. Holmfirth also has some stunning scenery and walks that we enjoyed each day before going out to explore an abundance of great pubs and restaurants.

What a great experience it was like stopping in a living museum full of lots of things I’d had in my own childhood home it brought back so many memories. The bed was very comfortable and the surrounding area is beautiful.
