About Rose Cottage

Description

This charming double fronted Dales cottage lives up to its name with a garden full of roses in the summer, where you can pass the time of day and watch the world go by from the comfort of your own garden. Rose Cottage is a lovely end of terrace stone built cottage on the edge of the popular village of Askrigg, yet only a few minutes walk from the centre of the village with its pubs, restaurants, teashops, good old fashioned village shop and a florist. Crammed full of character, it has an open fire, deepset windows, stone shelves and beamed ceilings, with an old barn behind it which still has its cobbled floor and the cattle stalls where the cows were milked, so there is plenty of storage space for your outdoor gear.

There are walks from the door in abundance, and the added benefit of your own car parking space, which is rare in the village. Whatever the time of year, there is plenty to enjoy and do both in the village and the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

ACCOMMODATION
The cottage has a front door which leads through into the warm and welcoming sitting room at the front of the cottage with its beamed ceiling, tiled floors, comfortable seating, antique pine furniture and multifuel stove. A door from the sitting room leads to the spacious and very well equipped tile flagged farmhouse style dining kitchen with an antiqued pine kitchen with butlers sink and range cooker, and antique pine dining table and chairs, with the original stone shelved pantry off. Upstairs is the master bedroom with an antique style wrought iron bed and pretty views over the garden and to the hills beyond and a twin bedroom. There is a bathroom with bath, washbasin, separate shower, and toilet.

To the side of the cottage there is a private walled garden with furniture and barbeque and off road parking for one car. Behind the cottage is the old cow byre, complete with cobbled stone floor and original cattle stalls which gives ample and secure storage for bikes and outdoor clothing and boots.

Wonderfully dated decor (that is a positive - quirky and different), but well equipped and maintained with plenty of space.

Now the mattress has been replaced I would recommend this property.

Guest

Great cottage at the start of the yorkshire 3 peaks.

Guest

A nice cottage, very well equipped, in a great location let down, as has been mentioned before, by the very poor quality mattress in the master bedroom.

This is an old period cottage with some quite dated decor with paper peeling in places and a very musty damp smell on entering front door into lounge.
