It's a well known fact that Guy Fawkes was born in the heart of Yorkshire, York. A slightly less known fact is that the Yorkshire community annually, on the 5th November, come together to put on a wide range of special events that guarantee to light up your evening.
Whether your preference is a bonfire, a fireworks display or just a good old-fashioned get together, Yorkshire has something for everyone.
Below are the top highlights that are not to be missed this year.
Sledmere's popular 'Musical Fireworks Spectacular' is back for a third year and will be sure to wow you with an amazing fireworks display set to music with this years theme being 'Out of this World'! There will be lots of well recognized extra-terrestrial tunes and alien inspired décor, fairground rides, refreshments (including a hog roast) and a licensed bar. Discounted early bird tickets are now available.
It's that time of year again... Get ready for Rudding Park's BONFIRE on Saturday 4 November! Join them from 6:30pm to watch them light the bonfire, then enjoy fireworks, Pie & Peas and an evening disco with Mark Green. The fireworks begin at 6:50pm, Pie & Peas at the Deer House are then available at 7:15pm before the Disco at the Deer House with Mark Green finishes the night from 9pm! Please note that personal fireworks are not allowed. Children must be supervised. No pets allowed.
Welcome to Calderdale's largest public Bonfire and Firework Display. There'll be two huge firework displays, the HUGE Elland bonfire, a fire dance display team, food stalls, hot drinks, fairground rides, games stalls and music too; what more could you need for a wonderful night out with friends and family?
Join Thornton Hall Farm this November for an amazing fireworks extravaganza. A well as the huge bonfire, there will be live music and entertainment and considering that this fantastic event has sold out for the past two years, pre-booking is a must to make sure that you don't miss out on this explosive event.
There will be rides and entertainment when the gates open at 6.00pm, food and hot drinks are also available. The Bonfire will be lit by the Mayor of Selby Town Council at 6.30pm. The first set of fireworks are lit at 7.00pm and the second at around 7.30pm. Minster FM are also in attendance to provide music and entertainment and they give away goody bags too. No sparklers or other fireworks, No dogs or bicycles are allowed on the field. This is a fabulous family event enjoyed by almost 5,000 people last year. Come along and enjoy the evening.
Remember, remember 5th November...! Bolton Abbey are delighted to host their annual bonfire and firework display by the banks of river Wharfe in the shadows of the Priory Ruins. Wrap up warm, and be entertained by fire eaters and traditional fairground rides. The evening will end with a dazzling firework display.

If you've been to our bonfire event before then you'll know that that Castleford Tigers throw the best party in town and it's certainly one not to be missed! Their Family Bonfire Night will take place here at the Mend-A-Hose Jungle on Sunday 5 November. Gates open at 4.00pm with the bonfire being lit at 6.00pm and the Fireworks display at 7.00pm. It's certainly one for the families as they welcome along plenty of fairground rides, home cooked food and you might even spot one of the players enjoying the evening.
The South Milford Annual Bonfire is the largest bonfire in the area, and raises much needed funds to aid the communities of South Milford and Monk Fryston. 2017 is the 25 year anniversary and promises another amazing night of fireworks and fun; with a disco and fire eaters adding to the occasion.
