At Cartwright Hall, a fascinating exhibition titled A Somali Village in Lister Park: Weaving Together Industry, Culture and Empire runs until 1 November. This exhibit takes a deep dive into Bradford's past, focusing on the 1904 Great Exhibition held in Lister Park. The exhibition highlights the story of a Somali village that was part of the event, where 57 individuals lived and worked as part of a colonial display for six months. From 15 May to 1 February, the National Science and Media Museum will host an exhibition celebrating 70 years of the Eurovision Song Contest. This exhibition explores the innovations in broadcasting that have shaped the contest, from colour television to modern LED technology. Visitors can expect a vibrant celebration filled with music, performances, and engaging activities that reflect the excitement of Eurovision.

Bradford Markets are buzzing with activity, featuring a variety of events perfect for a day out. Upcoming highlights include:
Shayler Franklin performing on 22 May from 6pm to 8pm, showcasing country music at Darley Street Market.
NMFT Young Traders Market on 23 May from 10am to 4pm, featuring traders aged 16 to 30 selling unique goods.
Lewis Pugh will be performing on 29 May from 6pm to 8pm, bringing folk and punk sounds to the market.
A Purrfect Day on 30 May from 10am to 4pm, a cat-themed event with stalls, activities, and a virtual cat show.
Eid at Darley Street on 30 May from 11.30am to 3.30pm, celebrating with traditional crafts and workshops.
